Saudi Ports Authority, Italian Ambassador Discuss Maritime Cooperation

Shipping Arabia, May 19, 2026 – The Saudi Ports Authority, Mawani, has discussed opportunities for maritime cooperation with the Italian Republic as part of efforts to strengthen economic relations and support the development of the Kingdom’s ports sector.

The meeting brought together Mawani President Eng. Sulaiman Al-Mazroua and Italian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Carlo Baldocci, with discussions focusing on potential partnerships that could contribute to enhancing supply chain efficiency and supporting trade movement between the two countries.

The talks also addressed the role of Saudi ports as pivotal logistics hubs serving global trade, in line with the Kingdom’s wider efforts to develop port infrastructure, improve connectivity and strengthen its position within international maritime networks.

The meeting reflects growing interest in expanding cooperation between Saudi Arabia and international partners in the maritime and logistics sectors, particularly as ports continue to play a central role in supporting trade resilience, economic diversification and global supply chain connectivity.
