  • Asyad Shipping Takes Delivery of First Kamsarmax Bulk Carrier

Shipping Arabia, September 29, 2026 – Asyad Shipping has taken delivery of Ain Al Sarooj, the first of two Kamsarmax dry bulk carriers acquired by the company earlier this year, with the vessel immediately entering a one-year time charter.

The company disclosed the delivery to the Muscat Stock Exchange, stating that Ain Al Sarooj will begin contributing to its revenue immediately.

Its sister vessel, Ain Al Thawarah, is scheduled for delivery by the end of November 2026. Asyad Shipping has already secured employment for the vessel under a two-year time charter.

    Asyad Shipping Kamsarmax Acquisition

Asyad Shipping signed an agreement on April 22, 2026, to acquire the two second-hand Kamsarmax vessels for a total consideration of approximately RO 28 million.

Both vessels were built in 2023 and each has a carrying capacity of 85,000 deadweight tonnes.

The delivery of Ain Al Sarooj marks the first step in bringing the two-vessel acquisition into operation, while Ain Al Thawarah is expected to follow within two months.

Dry Bulk Fleet to Reach 18 Owned Vessels

Dr Ibrahim Al Nadhairi, Chief Executive Officer of Asyad Shipping, said the two additions will increase the company’s owned dry bulk fleet to 18 vessels.

Together, the owned dry bulk fleet will have a combined carrying capacity of more than 3 million DWT. The company also supplements its owned vessels with tonnage chartered from the market.

Asyad Shipping’s dry bulk fleet spans several vessel classes, including Very Large Ore Carriers (VLOCs), Newcastlemax, Baby-Cape, Kamsarmax and Ultramax vessels.

Al Nadhairi described the fleet as one of the largest and most diverse in the region, saying its mix enables Asyad Shipping to serve customers while strengthening its global presence.

Fleet Serves More Than 60 Countries

Asyad Shipping has been operating for more than 20 years and currently manages a fleet of approximately 90 vessels.

Its activities cover five shipping segments: crude, dry bulk, gas, liner and products. The company serves customers in more than 60 countries.

The addition of Ain Al Sarooj and the forthcoming delivery of Ain Al Thawarah will further expand the company’s owned dry bulk capacity, while both vessels enter contracted employment following their respective deliveries.
