  • Medkon Lines Launches Weekly MIA Shipping Service Connecting Türkiye, Lebanon and Egypt

Shipping Arabia, October 29, 2026 – Medkon Lines Egypt has launched its new weekly MIA shipping service, establishing a direct maritime connection between Adanaport (SANKO) in Türkiye, the Port of Beirut in Lebanon and Alexandria Old Port in Egypt. The service commenced operations on October 27, 2026, offering scheduled weekly sailings across the Eastern Mediterranean.

The new connection provides shippers with additional transportation options between the three countries, combining short transit times with the ability to accommodate different container types and cargo requirements.

MIA Shipping Service Offers Short Transit Times

The MIA shipping service operates along a route connecting Adanaport (SANKO), Beirut and Alexandria Old Port. According to Medkon Lines Egypt, the service provides a transit time of two days from Adanaport to Beirut and three days from Adanaport to Alexandria.

The weekly connection supports the movement of dry container cargo, refrigerated (reefer) containers and special equipment. This range of equipment enables the service to accommodate different shipping requirements across the three markets.

Medkon Lines has positioned the MIA service as a new direct connection between Türkiye, Lebanon and Egypt. The weekly schedule and announced transit times provide exporters, importers and logistics providers with additional options for moving cargo across the Eastern Mediterranean.

Medkon Lines Expands Its Mediterranean Shipping Connections

The introduction of the MIA shipping service adds another connection to Medkon Lines’ regional maritime operations. The new route links three Mediterranean ports and provides direct shipping options for cargo moving from Türkiye to Lebanon and Egypt.

According to Egyptian business newspaper Al Mal, Pan Marine acts as the shipping line’s agent in the Egyptian market. The publication also reported that Medkon was established in Türkiye in 2009 and reorganized in 2012 under the name Medkon Line Management Shipping and Trade S.A.

The MIA service follows other maritime service developments involving Pan Marine in Egypt. Al Mal reported that the company recently announced the addition of the vessel Ark Futura to the roll-on/roll-off (RORO) service connecting Damietta Port in Egypt with the Port of Trieste in Italy.

That development increased the RORO service frequency to two weekly sailings. The service, which began in November 2024, supports cargo movements between Egypt and European markets, including transit cargo destined for Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

With the MIA service now operating, Medkon Lines is offering a weekly direct maritime connection between Adanaport, Beirut and Alexandria Old Port, supported by announced transit times of two and three days from the Turkish port to the Lebanese and Egyptian destinations, respectively.
