Jeddah Islamic Port Highlights 10.2 Million TEU Capacity and Integrated Logistics Capabilities
Shipping Arabia, July 15, 2026 – Jeddah Islamic Port continues to strengthen its position as a leading logistics gateway on the Red Sea, supported by an annual container handling capacity of 10.2 million TEUs, advanced infrastructure and an integrated maritime and logistics ecosystem.
According to operational indicators released by the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), the port is capable of handling approximately 20,000 containers and processing 10,000 trucks per day. Its infrastructure includes two container terminals equipped with 41 semi-automated ship-to-shore cranes, while its berthing capacity enables the simultaneous handling of up to 14 container vessels.
The port recorded an occupancy rate of 66%, while average truck gate-out time stood at approximately 60 minutes. Window vessels can also benefit from direct berthing upon arrival, supporting schedule reliability and more efficient vessel turnaround.
Landside operations are supported by a truck park covering 1 million square meters with capacity for up to 40,000 trucks. The facility serves as the first checkpoint for trucks heading to the port, helping streamline traffic flows, reduce congestion at port gates and improve operational efficiency.
Jeddah Islamic Port also provides an integrated range of maritime services, including marine bunkering and other vessel support services. These capabilities strengthen coordination across marine, terminal and landside operations and support the efficient movement of cargo through the port.
Located along major East–West shipping routes, Jeddah Islamic Port serves as a principal gateway for Saudi Arabia’s international trade. Its expanding capacity and integrated logistics infrastructure support the Kingdom’s efforts to improve supply chain efficiency, enhance port competitiveness and consolidate its position as a global logistics hub.
