MSC LORETA Makes Maiden Call at Khorfakkan Port

Shipping Arabia, July 14, 2026 – Gulftainer has welcomed the maiden call of the MSC LORETA at Khorfakkan Port in the United Arab Emirates, marking the arrival of one of the largest container vessels ever handled at the port.

With a carrying capacity of approximately 24,000 TEUs, the ultra-large container vessel’s call highlights Khorfakkan Port’s capability to accommodate the latest generation of containerships and support high-volume cargo operations.

The milestone reinforces the port’s role in facilitating global trade through the UAE and reflects its strategic position on the country’s eastern coast, providing direct access to major international shipping routes.

Gulftainer said the vessel call represents more than an achievement in scale, highlighting the continued development of Khorfakkan as part of the company’s integrated global trade infrastructure platform. The platform aims to connect port operations with shipping and logistics networks while supporting wider economic activity.

The arrival of the MSC LORETA follows the recent launch of new shipping connections at Khorfakkan Port and further demonstrates the port’s growing role in regional and international container trade.
