Port of NEOM and CEVA Almajdouie Logistics Target Stronger Multimodal Freight Connectivity

Shipping Arabia, October 18, 2026 – Port of NEOM and CEVA Almajdouie Logistics are collaborating to strengthen multimodal freight connectivity between the Red Sea and inland markets across the Middle East. The initiative aims to improve cargo movements linking Europe, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Iraq through integrated maritime and land-based logistics services.

The cooperation combines Port of NEOM’s strategic location on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast with CEVA Almajdouie Logistics’ regional road transport network and cross-border logistics capabilities. By integrating maritime services with trucking, warehousing and customs clearance, the partners aim to provide more efficient freight connections between international shipping routes and regional destinations.

Connecting Maritime Gateways With Inland Logistics Networks

A central focus of the collaboration is improving cargo movement beyond the port gate. The partners intend to connect maritime transport services with inland logistics infrastructure, enabling freight to move more efficiently between the Red Sea and markets throughout Saudi Arabia and neighboring countries.

CEVA Almajdouie Logistics brings regional transportation capabilities, including cross-border trucking, customs clearance and warehousing services. Combined with Port of NEOM’s maritime connectivity, these services are expected to offer customers additional options for moving freight between regional and international markets.

Bonded warehousing and customs brokerage services are also expected to support cross-border cargo movements. These capabilities could help facilitate regional distribution and provide greater flexibility for shippers managing freight across multiple markets.

Supporting Containerized, RoPax and Project Cargo

The Port of NEOM logistics cooperation targets a broad range of cargo segments, including containerized freight, RoPax traffic, bulk cargo and general cargo. The partners also aim to support heavy equipment shipments and logistics requirements associated with major infrastructure projects.

Specialized road transportation services could facilitate the movement of oversized equipment and infrastructure components between maritime gateways and inland destinations. This capability forms part of the broader effort to connect port services with regional freight transportation networks.

The initiative therefore extends beyond conventional container movements. It seeks to accommodate different cargo requirements through a combination of maritime transport, specialized trucking, warehousing and customs services.

Strengthening Regional Supply Chain Connectivity

Stefano Pollotti, CEO of CEVA Almajdouie Logistics, emphasized the importance of integrating maritime and inland transportation networks.

“Directly connecting maritime gateways with high-capacity road transport networks is critically important to the resilience of modern supply chains,” Pollotti said.

The collaboration aims to strengthen these connections by combining Port of NEOM’s Red Sea location with CEVA Almajdouie Logistics’ regional distribution capabilities. The partners intend to improve cargo accessibility between maritime trade routes and destinations across Saudi Arabia and surrounding markets.

The proposed multimodal connections could provide shippers with greater flexibility when routing freight between Europe, Egypt, the GCC countries and Iraq. They would also support the movement of different cargo types through integrated port and inland transportation services.

However, the announcement did not provide details of any new scheduled shipping services, additional freight transportation capacity or a specific implementation timeline for the proposed multimodal connections.
